Course Description:
The PROTECT Protocol Provider for Dental Professionals is a comprehensive online certification program focused on the safe removal of mercury amalgam fillings. This course provides an in-depth understanding of dental mercury, including its history, regulatory classification, and associated health and environmental risks.
Participants will receive detailed training in the PROTECT Protocol, emphasizing strict safety measures to minimize mercury exposure for patients, dental teams, and the environment. The course also covers OSHA compliance requirements, proper use of protective equipment, and implementation of respiratory safety programs within the dental practice.
Through a combination of video instruction, presentations, and supporting materials, clinicians will learn how to integrate safe amalgam removal protocols into daily practice. Completion of the program requires demonstration of competency through an oral presentation and proof of proper equipment and protocol implementation.
Upon successful completion, participants will earn the PROTECT Protocol Certificate, be recognized as a PROTECT Protocol Provider, and be listed on the IABDM website as a trusted provider committed to the highest standards of safety and care.
